Taxing public sector IT problems are child’s play
The media reports that HMRC systematically “failed to tell 300,000 families about changes to child benefit that could see them lose their subsidies.”
For all the millions if not billions of taxpayers’ money that is wasted on public sector IT procurement, the powers that be seem unable to get even the basics right. And perhaps surprisingly, the larger a public sector IT contract is, it appears the more likely it will be fundamentally flawed. It is time for a major re-think.
