Aquarium is a pawsome sponsor of #Bringyourdogtoworkday 2017
Pet insurance technology specialist Aquarium Software is proud to be among several pawsome sponsors of national Bring Your Dog to Work Day on 23 June 2017. Aquarium is using the second year of sponsoring the event to remind pet parents everywhere of the true value of pets and why pet insurance is a must for mutts.
This year’s worthy canine causes of BYDtWD are Animals Asia and All Dogs Matter. Promoting respect for all animals, Animals Asia works to end the trade in dogs and cats for food in China and Vietnam and prevent the export of "meat dogs" in Asia. All Dogs Matter is a dog rescue charity, seeking to rehome a significant proportion of the UK’s 102,363 unwanted dogs. While giving generously to such good causes is one thing, Aquarium says we need to get better at looking after our own pets too and that’s where insurance comes in.
“Sponsoring Bring Your Dog to Work Day is our way of raising awareness of such a good cause, but charity begins at home, and we need to do more for our four legged friends by having pet insurance,” said Aquarium’s Sales and Marketing Director, Mark Colonnese. “We are technologists with a soft spot for spaniels and springers; all pets deserve our best care and that means microchipping and insurance are both a must for mutts.”
2016 YouGov research commissioned by Aquarium revealed 63 per cent of Brits would mourn their pet as deeply as a family member, yet over half of the population don’t have their pets insured against even the most basic of illnesses. Given our close attachment to pets, to avoid having to make difficult – and costly decisions about whether to save our pet in future, pet owners must invest in pet insurance. “As a company heavily involved in the pet industry and with two dogs of my own, sponsoring Bring Your Dog to Work Day was a no-brainer,” added Colonnese. “We’re taking the lead giving the pet insurance industry the tools it needs to keep premiums low, in the hope we can encourage more people to have the right level of insurance for their pets. Needless to say, my own dogs will be with me at Aquarium on 23 June.”
