Software Developer

You:

The Role:

As a Developer in Aquarium Software, you will be working amongst a super-talented R&D team who love nothing better than to work in a collaborative, innovative, supportive working environment.

Aquarium is the name of our platform that manages business processes. The platform is immensely powerful and the role of our Developers is to maintain the platform and also create new systems, components and interfaces for specific clients.

It's an exciting job and no two days are the same. Some other tasks that you will be involved in are

• Perform all work in accordance with the company’s documented development standards and OWASP guidelines
• Create new systems, components and interfaces according to specification provided
• Fix bugs, add new features and enhance existing features according to specification provided
• Investigate and troubleshoot issues, providing 2nd / 3rd line IT support to other departments within Aquarium and its associated companies
• Create and undertake unit tests, recording all results in accordance with the company’s procedures
• Assist when requested with integration and system testing

Required Skills and Experience:

• You have a good degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
• You have a basic understanding of any of the following technologies: ASP.NET, C#, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AngularJS and SQL Server
• You have some understanding of source control solutions (Mercurial)
• You have a good working knowledge of web user interface design (UID), software development process, Object-Oriented design (OOD) 
• You have excellent attention to detail 
• You can organise yourself on multiple work tasks and have the ability to priories them to meet specific deadlines
• You are quick to grasp and understand new tasks and ideas 
• You are a great team worker 
• You have a strong desire for self-improvement and advancement
• You are ambitious and prepared to commit to a rapidly growing company through a period of considerable expansion

Application Consultant

The Role:

Aquarium is the name of our platform that manages business processes. The platform is immensely powerful and the role of our Consultants is to meet with our clients, find out what they need the platform to do for them and then build the requirements into Aquarium using Visio, or through stored procedures that are written in T-SQL. 

As an Application Consultant, you will be working amongst a super-talented Consultancy team who love nothing better than to work in a collaborative, supportive working environment which helps to ensure that all project work is delivered on time and within budget. 

The role will ultimately become client facing so interpersonal skills are imperative for this job. 

It's an exciting job and no two days are the same. Some other tasks that you will be involved in are:

  • Map out the business and Aquarium architecture for client implementations
  • Liaise closely with the functional and technical teams
  • Help to author internal and external, technical design and implementation documents
  • Manage the technical delivery of integrations and custom extensions
  • Help to manage the technical scope and client expectations
  • Provide hands on expert level assistance to developers on technical issues
  • Help design and manage the execution of test plans
  • Provide technical handover and assistance to internal support team members
  • Deliver end user training

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent
  • You have some knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including TSQL
  • You are professional and articulate and have excellent written and oral technical communication skills
  • You can cope well under pressure, can multitask and can adapt to changing circumstances
  • You have sound judgement and will consider all facts before making a judgement
  • You have good organisational and time management skills and can prioritise effectively
  • You are a confident starter-finisher with an eye for detail
  • You are a problem-solver, able to use your own initiative in finding pragmatic solutions
  • You are personable, able to establish a good rapport quickly and establish trust in the long term
  • You are an excellent team worker
  • You are comfortable working independently to investigate and resolve unfamiliar problems
